The Skaters’ Education and Training Fund, Inc.

Scholarships, gifts, and grants are available to skaters who reside in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

All scholarships, gifts, and grants awarded are to be used for any part or all expenses incurred for coaching, training, ice time and education in the sport of figure skating without regard to age, race, sex, religious creed, color, national origin or ancestry. The dollar amount of scholarships, gifts and grants may vary annually due to monies available in the fund.

Application for such scholarships, gifts, and grants must be completed before such individual or organization is considered for selection.

Scholarships, gifts and grants are awarded for one year. In order to continue the scholarship, gift or grant beyond this one year, an individual or organization must reapply. For renewal, the skater is required to send in writing any tests passed, standing at competitions, and a listing of how money was spent before any additional grants would be considered.

Scholarship I
The amount of the benefit is from $300 up to $10,000. This scholarship is open to all skaters who compete in National, Sectional, and Regional Championships.

Scholarship II
The amount of the benefit is from $100 up to $2,000. This scholarship is available to assist deserving and promising figure skaters in need of financial assistance to continue their education and training in the sport of figure skating.

Gifts
The amount of the benefit is from $100 up to $1,000. Gifts are available to volunteers to further their education and training in judging, officiating, and administrating the sport of figure skating along with fostering public interest in physical fitness and character building by conducting public seminars, training sessions, and amateur competitive events to further the public interest in the sport of figure skating.

Requests for grants should be submitted to the Skaters Education and Training Fund, Inc. The narrative (limited to 2 pages) should include the rational for the request, the expected results and the cost.
